First blood
« on: August 16, 2009, 02:41:14 AM »
I left home today at 2:30 PM to go down by Randle for my MH damage elk hunt. Set up on an alfalfa field and waited until about 8:30 when a cow elk stepped out of the woods and into the field. 100 yard shot and the work begins. I told myself I wouldn't go elk hunting alone again the last time I did it and got an elk but I guess I have a short memory. I think it was about 10:45 when I got it all in the truck and headed home. Got home about 12:30. got done hanging it, cleaning it, and everything else about 2:15. Now I'm wide awake.  :bash: Oh well. Gonna get it into a locker first thing after church in the morning and get the freezer filled up.

Hey Wannahunt, is this opportunity "in addition" to your general elk tag, being general archery, muzzy or rifle or are you now tagged out for elk in 09?
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

When I got the call I had the option to go buy a second elk tag which I did so I'm still on for the general season. None of the pictures I took in field turned out. Not sure what happened with that but here is one back at home.
