Weyerhaeuser has sold a bunch of it's land to Hancock as well. Hancock now owns the Vail tree farm.
Sometimes in the morning the gate will be open, but if you drive in it may be closed and LOCKED when you want to get out. Last year if you downed an elk you could call and let them know when you would be at what gate and how long you would be in and they were good about letting bow hunters in to get their elk.

I guess that you can't believe all that you read and what you hear from friends. It is stated on page 49 of the August issue of Washington/ Oregon Game and fish magazine that Hancock owns Vail. I guess they got their facts wrong yet again!
