Obtaining maps of Weyerhaeuser land around Mt. Saint Helens
« on: August 19, 2009, 12:50:54 PM »
I've tried unsuccessfully to get a contact person or page to find out what it would take to get some maps for the upcoming early Archery Elk hunt.  I went to the Weyerhaeuser Home Page and found a Email page which I then launched two separate Emails under categories "Environment" & "Timberlands" in the U.S.".

Will I have to go to a regional office and pick them up in person or can they be obtained somewhere else ?  :dunno:

Thanks for any help guys.

I recently bought a Weyco St. Helens Tree Farm map at the gas station in Kid Valley.  To be honest, the map isn't that good.  It covers such a large area that there is little in the way of relavent detail like road numbers.  I have a DNR public lands map for the Mt. St. Helens area and it is way better.  You can get the DNR maps online or at the map office in Tumwater.

Arnolds maps in Vancouver has county maps, and they have all the weyerhauser roads on them.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

What lands are you wanting maps for??
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I'm looking for maps to give me a good layout for Winston, Coweeman, Toutle, Mossyrock etc.  Pretty much the Mt. Saint Helens Tree Farm area.

Check with Bob's in Longview.  They have a great selection of maps.

Thanks Huntbear,
I got a feed on that from a friend recently and I also heard back from Weyerhaeuser on my second Email to them that included that contact.  Bob's will let me buy via phone from 9-12:00 daily for $6.99 a piece and he said the Mt. Saint Helens Tree Farm would include all those units I talked about earlier. Do you by any chance know of any online sites that I can browse ?

Cool.  Thanks for the link.  When I read your message about map sales I was thinking of the Olympia office...........I was reading too fast. :P  (supposed to be working).

Anyway, I didn't know they had that office in Tumwater.  Thanks.

The gas station in Toutle also carries the latest saint helens tree farm maps, but the really aren't that good. Any unit that has large plots of state land in it will not have road numbers marked on the Weyco maps only their roads.

I got mine at the gas station in Toutle, also.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!
