70 yards.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Bow or Modern Firearm or both combined into an average?  For bow I would have to say 10 - 15 yards average, I really enjoy being that close as it gets my heart racing and for rifle... right around 65 - 70 yards average. Guess I tend to hunt thicker cover.  :dunno:

I've had shots under 10' and all the way out to 1000 yards but most have been in the 50yard to 75 yard range.

Yeah, no idea what my "average" would be, have not kept track.  Killed elk and deer with a bow as close as 5', have shot deer withe a rifle at ranged 504 and elk with rifle pushing 700yards, and everywhere in between.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

60 yards or so. That doe (special hunt) last year I shot with my bow was about 8 yards, so she brought down my average some. ;)

About 150 yards.  Last year... 50 yards (that one snuck up on me while I was "checking my eyelids for cracks"  :chuckle:).  Previous years... close to 200 yards.  I sit on the same bluff, overlooking the same tree-line every year.

My best shot ever was a 160 yard shot (one shot) on a jackrabbit on a dry lake bed in the Mojave Desert... with a Marlin 795, .22 lr.

I would say 100 yards with the longest at 250.  Funny how everyone fusses over having a long range cannon (I'm no exception) but look at the averages.
