Benelli Vinci

Anyone try the new Benelli Vinci? it looks very cool and there is some amazing technology employed in it. I have read a couple of reviews but haven't ever actually seen one. Any comments, thoughts? $1495 for the camo version. Pretty steep.

I shot a round a sporting clays with one.  It's an interesting gun.  The whole gun comes apart in about 20 seconds.  It shoots like the Nova or has a similar feel.  I don't know if I would drop the money for it, but it is easy to maintain and clean.  The only one like it.

Benelli shamelessly proclaims, "The innovative ComforTech Plus System makes the Vinci the world’s lightest and softest-kicking shotgun." It is neither, in our opinion. The Vinci is a competent shotgun, though. For a dedicated clays gun, we’d skip the Vinci in favor of the Urika II or other heavier, softer-shooting gas models. Flipside: If we were going pheasant hunting or heading to the duck blind tomorrow, we’d grab the Vinci.

I was at the gun shop and the dealer had one in there it was even uglier up close...but I am a girl and don't really care for shotguns

they took it down and shot something like 38,000 rounds through it in a month with no maintanance other than a short blast of wd40 every once and awhile to clear it our.

Being a girl has nothing to do with it!  It may perform well, but it is not a pretty sight...  What did they do to the trigger guard??

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've handled it and it feels great in your hands, lightweight and well balanced. I've talked to a few people that have shot it and it has far less recoil than other Benelli's. I think it's an engineering marvel. Time will tell if it stands up to years of hard use.

what gun were u looking at, i think it is an extremly cool looking gun, not ugly at all. id love to try one out

I have an SBE and my son shoots trap/sporting clays with a Sport II.  They are both fine pointing, very dependable shotguns.  I read an article on the Vinci where they went to Argentina shooting doves.  They shot over 5k rounds through each gun without a gun related malfunction.  I will be looking at one for my next shotgun.  That's all I have to say about that.
