I'm glad you guys found each other. I've hunted solo before.. I don't necessarily dislike it. I actually seem to go farther than if I had a partner.. Not that they've ever held me back. But it's nice to have someone to play cards with back at camp.

I suspect that I will be hunting solo for some of my time in the woods this year.

Wife friggin hates it when I do that.

Well, it is nice that there is someone that worries about me. Cares about me. Knows when to send the recovery party after my belongings. I'm sure she'll be happy that someone finds my body someday, that's the way she can make the life insurance claim.  :chuckle:

Hunting solo is actually my favorite thing to do.  It allows me to make my own decisions about how far to walk, how long I should glass an area, if I pull up and go to a new spot if I don't think one is working out.  I also hunt a lot harder when I'm by myself.

I'm ultra serious about it and I don't drink at all until I shoot something - ever.  But if I'm successful or the season ends I'll have a beer or two to celebrate either a successful conclusion or a good hunt (or both). :)  Anyway, hunting by myself limits other people doing distracting things like staying up too late drinking and pissing me off in the morning when they have trouble getting out of bed.

I don't want to give the impression that I'm against beer - I'm a HUGE fan.  Just not while I'm on a hunting trip.

So i dont get this post, you have all your own gear, all your own food, but from what i understand you really have no idea where to go and are hoping someone will take you there or invite you there and keep you cozy/occupied?
Really, its the nite before the prom and you dont have a date huh, If you want to come and split a few cords of wood next summer, i'll have ya in camp after next year, but this year, sorry im hunting solo,, :chuckle:

hunting alone is my favorite way too, it's nice to meet up back at camp with the other hunters though.
