I'm a bit confused by your post.  Sounds like a core summer activity area with food, water, and cover.  They'll be all through it.  Spend enough time there, watch the wind, and you should be able to put something together.  Assuming you are disabled in some way to have a crossbow permit?

Let me know where this is at I'll come over, scout it out for ya, kill a big one then let you know where the best place would be to sit!
On a serious note if you are able to get around sounds like a nice slow stalk should do the trick if there's that much sign. Sounds like they have everything they need right there. They shouldn't be to far away.

the caps lock button is kinda middle keyboard on the left hand side, go ahead and push it once

I would get a spotting scope and do some long range scouting and try and see if you can pattern them and then set up according to the wind.

They changed that and now you anybody can hunt with a crossbow if it is in a firearm restricted unit. I can't find my reg book but I spoke with a game warden about the change and it is legal to use a crossbow.

But I believe you have to be hunting during a modern firearm season, correct?

Bobcat- if I remember right you are correct. But like I said I can't find my regs. Last time I was looking at them in my buddies truck so I'm thinking I left them there. :bash:

That's cool that you're able to get out there after the elk with a crossbow.  Good luck.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
