Redstar, how do you cook up your panfish?

It kinda depends on what's available at the time. Those guys went into a tin foil boat with pabst in it, a little lemon and some pepper and threw them on the grill. The meat practically fell off the skin and bones.

They're also excellent fried with whatever seasonings are on hand, I think we did dill weed and garlic the last time I fried one. How do you cook yours?

Redstar, I have a bunch of ways that I cook up those panfish...

Steam them in the microwave with a speck of butter and some old bay seasoning, then serve with rice.

Pan fry in butter and lay atop a scrambled egg breakfast.

Deep fry them quick (not too long) in the Fry daddy...

I even have a variation of your beer in foil trick, which is excellent too.

Glad to see someone else enjoy those panfish, seems a lot of guys toss them back.... very good eating....  :EAT:

not too nitpick, but bluegill and pumpkinseeds are both sunfish.  the only other varieties in this state are the green sunfish and warmouth, which are only in a couple lakes.

i like to eat the little buggers, but i never seem to catch ones as big as i used to years ago, or in big enough numbers to make them worth keeping.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
