bear ?
« on: August 29, 2009, 12:20:25 PM »
Never shot a bear before, but believe there's a good chance of it this year. Son and I are both going soon.

He had a question I hadn't considered... Can a hunter get both a rug for the wall and a European style skull mount from the same bear?

Seemed possible to me, but not being a bear hunter, I don't know! He's been saving a big chunk of his bedroom wall for a bear skin...  :)

Thanks, Guy

If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Yes the skull is not used on the bear rug when it is completed.

So therefore you can have the rug done and have the bear skull also done.

I have a lot of customers that want it done that way.

Great! Thanks all. I figured it could be done, but what do I know? I'm a deer hunter, not a bear hunter! Well, not for a few more days anyway...

Thanks again, hopefully my son and I will bring down a bear next week!

Well good luck to the both of you, hope you take some nice ones.

If you have the chance really glass them and make sure that they are not rubbed. Should be starting to put the hair back on though since it has been getting cold..
