That gets me thinking, I wonder if a cougar would try to take down a fully mature moose?  I would think the moose would stomp him but they do take down elk quite easily...

Back in my limited days of working in the USFS, we came upon a cougar snow kill.  The cougar had taken out three elk within 50 yards.  We weren't sure if the others watched as he killed the first one and then he went after them or what the situation was.  From the tracks, it looked like one cougar.  What a bloody snowy mess.

They must have had a sale on Elk that day and the cat was stocking up.  :chuckle:
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or destroy it, piss on it and walk away!

I doubt cougars mess with moose much.  There big tactic with elk is snapping their necks.  Can't imagine that happening on a moose.  Not real easy to puncture their skulls either like they do deer.  Wolves on the other hand...hamstring them then eat them alive.  Such pleasant creatures.  Make s you want to go give them a hug. :guns:

That is so cool.  That looks like a different animal than the St. Johns one.

THATS COOL!  First of all, apparantly your family never sleeps........course I don't either obviously or I wouldn't notice.   I have seen the pics of the IDaho moose.  I had no idea where she was from.  I assumed Alaska.  Thats neat she was down here.  I enjoyed the information. GOOD LINK!
