Dude that sucks!  Sorry to hear that.  I do know how you feel though, I went on a guided hunt in NM w/ my dad and one of his friends and we went 0 for 3 too.  Were they rutting at all down there?  Any shot opportunities at all?  Did anyone pass on anything?

I couldn't handle that kind of hunt.  I saw a lot of guys doing it.  The elk just came in at dark.

did the guide ever consider gettin you guys out of the blind and getting a little aggressive? i wasn't there so im not going to judge the guide but that may have been my strategy if the blinds were that slow

What did an 0 - 3 hunt run you?  Hopefully the guide was able to cut you a deal as usually your paying for there expertise on harvesting an animal.

Ouch.  Sorry to hear that.

unit 15.new mexico.  2 guys in camp got bulls sitting on tanks.we had agreed to listen to our guides no matter what.the elk were not hot.  i would way rather  spot and stalk and get 0    than sit on a f@@@ing tank and kill a monster.   i am still shell shocked that its all really over.......

o ya another detail.  before we came down we talked to the head guide and he said they had scouted a possible state record non typical bull.we showed up , down there  and the guides had pics of  a 420+  bull.  needless to say we were fired up.then they said there would be several gov.  tag guys going after him sept 1(with guns),  but we could still try if we wanted.  the night before we went out scouting with our guide and we saw HIM. i know the magical # 400 gets thrown around alot, but i actually laid eyes on a 420+  bull. when he gets shot you all will be able to identify him easily . he has about a 24" kicker about 1/2 way up his main beam. come morning time no body saw the bull .every day after that was spent in a ground blind 30 miles away from him. :'( :'( :'(still crying

REALLY sorry to hear that your hunt turned out that way! I will be riding into a wilderness area in BC seven days from now for my ten day guided hunt for elk and deer. I am hoping that my story has a different ending than yours did!
One shot, one Deer. Two shots, maybe one Deer. Three shots, no Deer

Man that totally sucks. You should let us know who this outfitter is so nobody else has to go through that.

i dont blame the outfitter.its hot down there and the bulls werent bugling  much.everone i talked to said "hunt water"  we did, thats for damn sure.the problem is we had the first hunt(sept 1-10)  the hunt at the end of sept is the best as far as rutting going and more traditional spot and stalk. i will hunt with them again (believe it or not)when we draw arizona   , we just wont hunt until the end of sept
