Well, if you're comparing the two in the pics I'd take that Whitey everytime.  That is a pig, any story to go along?

The mule deer is 27 wide straight across with triple eye guards on one side. The whitetail is 26 wide and a 7x5 that is heavy horned both opening day.

Both of those animals are huge...did that happen today?  Who shot those?  I'm assuming you didn't shoot them both.

Well if he was hunting the Idaho/Wa border he could do both.  I'd normally take a big muley everytime over a whitie, but in this case, that whitetail

I've seen that muley genetic in the Kettle Crest a lot.  In fact, I have a shed that looks practically identical.

I take the Whitetail.  I had a muley once and it was tough to eat.  I hear they're only good if taken out of the southeast grazing on farmland.

When I am out deer hunting, I want a Mule deer buck. That whitetail in the pic is to me more rare to find one that big. Though 27'' muley's dont grow on trees, they are around more than a 26'' whitetail. Both bucks are just awesome.

Great job!  I'm guessing those are from SE WA though... the angles of those forks on the muley look like a trait I've seen a lot down there....
