This is fishyricks buck, shot in skagit county on sunday. The butcher wieght was 160 pounds and he smelled like he was already in rut. It was the only one he saw untill after he shot, Then 3 others took off.....One was bigger.

160 how he looks in the picture with the legs on and the hide and head??

Not much to brag about.  A decent little buck from the San Juans.  He sure tastes good though.

KimberRich...I helped him hang it and the next day after it was skinned we took it to marzolfs in snohomish. That was the butcher wieght..Honest. I know you can't really tell by the pic. but if you think I'm stretching it you can call marzolfs and ask about the deer rick brought in on monday. the number is 360-568-4748. He does a real good job on game. I don't care if you want to check for yourself. It's all good, but if myou think I'm jacking it up ....call him. No hard feelings.
Just one more day

Got home yesterday and here is how it went.

Got fogged in on opening day. Had a deer cross the road about 2 minutes after we walked by, as it went up the hill it slipped in the dirt and fell to the ground, got up and racked a poor defenseless bush. All this happened no more then 50 yards from me but could not see a thing but heard it all. Then me and my daughter got snorted at by a deer, but could not see it for the fog was to thick . (heard rumor that someone shot a nice 4 point above the hill where my wife was watching, not 30 yards from her spot. She was there in the Am and the deer was taken in the PM). Seen no other deer that day, but a friend was hunting the next drainage over and took a nap to wait out the fog and when the fog lifted the looked down the hill and saw a 4x4 and he shot it, but while he was shooting his buck his son was scoping out a 5x6  and took it less then 200 yards from his dad. Well they both tagged out on opening morning.

The next day all i saw was a small crab claw 2 point and the wife spotted 5 does.

Day three brought lots of sweat from hiking with no bucks. In the evening we were spitting up with the group and we saw 16 does along the hwy. i took my daughter where she her deer 2 years previous, parked at the end of the road, walked up one ridge to the next ridge. the wind was blowing at my back and spooked out 6 deer from the ravine, all does  Glassed the ridge across the way and spotted 8 more deer, all does

On day four we just did a bit of road hunting and when back to camp to pack up and head home, empty handed :booo::booo::booo:

Here are some pictures.

My mom shot this buck on opening morning. She is now 7 hours into deer hunting, all post breast cancer, and has shot 2 bucks.
