Quick elk opening morning report
« on: October 31, 2009, 11:55:52 AM »
Helping a handicap friend in 342 for elk this morning by my house. First light had 2 bulls bugling like crazy within 100 yds of us. They were answering our call calls but would not commit to let us get a glimpse of them.  Saw about 15 cows all morning. Some came within 20 yds. Great to see the expression on my friend's face because he has been down because of his handicap. Counted 17 shots all morning in 340-342.

Great to see elk

Did not see a spike all weekend. Driving into work this morning had a cow and a spike run accross the road infront of my car. Almost hit the spike.
Looked around after missing him and saw at least 4 elk camps. He ran between all of them and no one saw him. Lucky elk. :IBCOOL:

Usually when someone see a spike in that area he is shot over 20 times by 20 different hunters
