NRA Sues Seattle Over Illegal Gun Ban

Click here to vote in this week's poll.
On October 28, NRA filed a complaint in the Superior Court of Washington State against the City of Seattle, asking the court to enjoin and declare invalid a recently enacted parks and recreation administrative policy that prohibits firearms in parks, community centers and other city-owned buildings.  Other plaintiffs in the case include state correctional officers and private citizens.

"NRA members are outraged that the City of Seattle has ignored and defied state law and an opinion of Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna," said NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox.  "The NRA will continue to fight this senseless infringement on the rights of law-abiding Seattle gun owners."

And with the slaying of the SPD officer last night, mayor 5 pennies is going to run with it.  I am willing to bet the house on it.

how cops can still have their guns on the parks ground and it will just add another criminal charge to the retard who brings a gun on parks grounds

Please explain to me how putting a gun restriction on LAW ABIDING citizens is going to make kids safer in a park?  Hell it would make me feel more vulnerable knowing the only ppl in the park with guns are the *censored*s who don't care about the law.  And trust me, how many shootings happen everyday where cops are not there with 'their guns' to protect an unarmed citizen???  I'd say more but it might get me banned!

99.9% of the time law enforcement is reactionary. They will get there to see you lying in a pool a blood. They may get the criminal but what good does that do. It leaves the law abiding citizen vulnerable. Criminals are lawless, they don't care what the law says they will do what they want to do. Lots of shootings tend to happen where there are gun bans in place, such as malls. Alot of good that ban on guns did, huh?
