Lowedog, I like the points you made in your post!  Spot on!  Alot of great Idea's on here.  Another option I was thinking would be to open the season earlier for a general hunt just like Wyoming say Sept 15th and run it for two weeks.  Then permit only later on, with limited tags.  This state has extreme potential, but needs to start at the top!

SO ............What are we going to do about it?
We can blog about it, complain about it and wish that things were better OR we can let the WDFW know what we are seeing in the field and ask for changes.

I would like to see fewer special permit in all of the Chelan County units south of Lake Chelan.  The fires made great forage habitat for winter range but escape cover is very limited.  The winter range hunts in November and December need to be greatly reduced.  The Swakane unit archery hunt should either be permit only or areas open to archery hunters needs to be expanded to reduce the pressure on that herd.
