Where to
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:05:56 AM »

So I have some buddies from college coming up for the late season whitetail hunt (rifle). I have narrowed down our location too 3 different areas, and was wondering what you guys would do for this hunt. First choice is Dunn mtn in huckleberry, 2nd is inland empire paper co land, and third in NF land due east of Addy. I am somewhat leaning towards the inland empire property because it is the one I have tried the least. I havent seen very many deer on NF land, as well as private land. Anyways any advice would be appreciated. I kinda feel bad cuz these guys dropped some serious $$ to come up here from outta state, and now I am kinda scratching my head as to where to take them.
THanks, Jake

the only ground i have been on is the inland paper they have a lot of ground for sure, you can go to there web site and it shows what they have for property, and its pretty cheap for a permit compared to a trespass fee :twocents:

...NF land due east of Addy.
This is the area I have my eye on for the late whitetail hunt but I've never been there.  If anyone cares to share information about potential camping areas please share in a pm.  Thanks. :hello:

The NF land east of addy  holds some deer, but I saw far more moose than deer during early archery season. The story was the same in the huckleberry, althought I'm sure the weather had a lot to do with it. I would hunt the paper land  :twocents:

The area east of Addy? So do you mean like the Iron mountains? I hunted that for one day last year and didn't see a thing. And no sign of deer either. I heard one shot and that was down lower over towards the golf course.

Yeah, that's the general area I'm speaking of.  With the agricultural land nearby (in and around Addy) I would guess the mountains next to the highway to the East probably hold some whitetails that cross the road for the all-night salad bar buffet.  It looks pretty steep but that would be ok by me if there are deer around. :dunno:
