a blacktail has a black tail correct?
these had BROWN hair on thier main tail, and a big white butt just like a blackie. Unless some cross breeding has happened i am positive it was whitetail i seen.
only seen famale though, no bucks.
did see one HUGE friggin Mulie buck though. I aimed at him too and said pow.
TANNERITE needed for target practice on opening day of each hunting season.

Whitetails do not have big white butts.  The only white is under their tails, their actual rumps arent white
If you aint hunting, you aint livin'

Why is everybody so quick to say "no there isn't any whitetails"? Man, maybe the guy did see one, geeeeez, you don't know every single animal that walks this earth and where it is, so just let it be, my goodness! On that note, I saw 2 bigfoot, a jackalope, and 48bison in the bear lake area

Not true.  Their entire butt is indeed not white.  But, a large portion of it is, whether their tail is up or down.

Whitetails in the Colockum?

yes, lots. not many sporting antlers though or we would have just stayed a few more days and had fun with them also.
big group of mommies right behind out camp the whole time we were up there.

Phish,
It is possible that there is a whitetail or two in the Colockum. But I doubt very seriously that there are "LOTS". I have a forty year history of hunting and hiking in the Colockum and I have never heard of or seen a whitetail out there. Did you take any pictures? If you did it would be good to see them.
I will admit I did pick up a shed once on Blewitt Pass that sure looked like a whitetail... I suppose anything is possible.
