Ok, I'll bite....

No need to make this a major flame thread....but feel free if you feel the need.  We all need to be a wee bit careful of how we as hunters present ourselves to the public.  I am in the animal industry and while we always want things to look and be absolutely perfect, there can parts of it that we wouldn't call a photo opportunity.  I have no problem with that pic, the coyote is dead and killed quickly.  But let me lay possible perceptions.

1.  We as hunters respect our natural resources, act responsibly and do our part to manage wildlife populations.  We shoot mature bucks and bulls, try to keep bull/cow ratios in the right balance to maximize the population to meet its current carrying capasity.  This includes improving habitat and predator control.  (being how we would like to do the harvesting, not letting the coyotes and wolves do it for us)  We could argue that being shot is a more humane death than being eaten alive, as well as make the point that harvesting animals "saves" some critters from starvation etc.

2.  We as hunters are a group that has no responsibility.  We do nothing more than buy guns to watch animals die or blow up and the smaller or younger the better.  We brag about how many internal organs are exposed, how little is remaining while we drink beer, litter and go home to make love to our cousins.  The name of the game is to get all we can, not worry about tomorrow or future generations, bitch and complain about someone else (mostly because they got something we wanted).....yadda, yadda.

Now, I tried to make these two examples extreeme.  ANYTHING animal related is going to be a touchy subject.  (example Wolves!)  Hunting is a privilege and there are a lot of people with a PILE of money doing all they can to take this privelege from us.  I've seen very minor things used as negative footage or photos for the antis, encluding a photo of still born calves or even a dead cow.  My point is that it doesn't take much and little good can come from it.

If I were "king of the world" and had a suggestion, it would be that pics like that are probably not posted, or if they are, that they are removed in 48 hours or so.

The key to most animal issues is to approach it with logic and reason, knowing that the big hurdle to cross is called emotion.  I have a hard enough time trying to convince people that a quick death is not cruel......still not making much ground up there either.

P.S.  Happy Thanksgiving and feel free to flame.

The picture is not of a deer or an elk it is of what eats our deer and elk and that is why we like to see them dead. They are called preditors and they eat what we hunt so to tuck there tonge back in to make a cute picture does;nt apply here this is YAR business.

Keep on topic.  This is not about posting pics of dead critters.  It is about posting pics unnecessarily of what some might call extreeme or graphic pics.  The point I'm trying to make is that we each have some responsibility on how we as a whole are viewed from the public.  It's no different than asking for permission to hunt and you get turned away because "others" were driving in fields or littering etc.

So with that it does in some way become more than just his business.  You have to ask yourself the question of what good can come of it or what harm can come of it and then see how it balances.

Now, before people go off on extreeme tangents about any pics, try to keep focused on ones that present that bit of "shock" factor.

im pretty sure this is NOT what this thread is about. refer to title and origanal post  :violent1:
