I hunted fee access Hancock land for the first time this year since I hunted the same area about 10-12 years ago when it was owned by Champion, I was successful in finding game, but I was also successful in finding some of the drunkest A$$-oles I've ever encountered in my life and had to file a Sheriff's report, completely ruined my hunt this year. It seems some who buy the permit feel it gives them license to treat the property as their own and that no one else has privilege to hunt there, I am really debating buying a pass again. I guess I'm biased as I was drawn for the special permit hunt Champion used to have and it was the best blacktail hunt I ever had, I was sorry to see them cancel that hunt and go to the State's season's for late buck. They assumed the fee would eliminate riff-raff but it clearly hasn't. Fee's continue to go up and the roads are not really maintained all that well, there are many spurs with no turn outs, badly pitted, etc, honestly I think the roads in Vail are in better shape.

is the permit per vehicle, or per person? meaning, if I get the permit, can I take people in with me if they are in my jeep/truck?

wow that is painful. so for those people in this thread who take their Son's and daughters and say they'd pay $500 or $1,000 for a permit... they are actually paying $1,000 to $2,000 to take their kid in to hancock.?

part of me still wants it, but it ain't getting any cheaper. i'll have to get some firewood to make it worthwhile.

the permit is for you your wife and kids under 18. $350.00 for the family, plus firewood..Many people buy the permit for firewood only...
