layout blinds

Looking for any sugestions or buyer beware on Layouts. I am 6ft and about 240  ill probably need something a litle bigger? also wht pattern would be best for Western Wa. I am assuming grass and corn. The tw I liked are Mossy Oak ''Shadow Grass" and Advantage "Max4HD" any feedback on these two would be helpfull.

  I have 2 layouts, Fa prolander it's a smaller low profile get down and dirty blind. i like it alot. My other one is a avery finisher blind it's a great blind for a bigger person folds up nice and has a carry sling. really almost all the blinds will fit you alright i'm 6'0 225 and have shot out of alot of different Fa brand blinds with no problems.  As far as camo it really should'nt matter if you do it right. You will mud your blind first and then every hunt you will be completly covering it with natural vegitation in the stubble straps. So if done properly you should'nt even be able to see what camo pattern you have.

GooseGunner, are both of those blinds the same size in and out? If you could only keep one of them which one would it be?

  No they don't measure the same the finisher is wider and taller. Which one would i keep is a tuff call. I would probably keep the finisher just because it is a  bigger more comfy blind and my dog can also fit in there with me behind my back support and headrest area, [I don't like to do it but can if i have to] the prolander blind has zippers that go down the sides of the backrest to make it sturdier and create a weather proof storage are behind you for extra cloths and what not. But i find myself using the prolander more it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it hides easier.

I have two FA Top Guns.  They work well for my son and I.  Something to consider is the packability of the layout blind.

I used to just lay in the mud and cover myself with grass, that was when I was just starting and hard core

I have the Xlander. I have had it for a few years and am happy with it. I was told by a few top goose guys that you want to stay away from the spring loaded doors. If you bump them, they fly open then the dog jumps and birds flair. Anyway the 4 guys I hunt with all have different models and everyone is happy with theres. We live on the wet side so driving out in the fields is usally not an option, so we are usually packing them. If that is the case make sure they have pack straps.

I see the Advantage Max 4 layout blind on their web site. any idea as to how much this blind is?

I belive that Advntage max is the Camo design
