I'm in. The server looks better (hardly noticeable to most I am sure). It's cheaper too.

Let's shoot for thursday evening at 9:00 pm for an outage until Friday evening at 9:00 PM

Been uploading the pictures to the new server. It's been running non stop over 24 hours. I will delay the final move and will do it sort of unannounced. You can almost bet it will not be when I am at work. Probably tomorrow night some time. Keep posting away. Expected down time 2-8 hrs when it does go offline. When I bring it back online it might be missing some attachments and photo gallery items but I will continue updating over the weekend. Next time I will have them slave the drive an copy it in less than 2 hours and suck up the 100 bucks.

Maintenance still underway for the next day or so. We have moved onto the new server but I have not finished the entire migration. There will be images missing, etc.

I'm going to have to take this offline for a while again shortly. When I ported over the database some of the tables were not kept in their original format. This makes for slower performance.

Ray,

Thanks for the work this weekend, on the move.  It is really appreciated.  Keep up the good work!!!!!!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Thanks Ray!   :)
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Just an update. It will probably take half the week to finish uploading attachments and make another pass on the gallery. Until then there will be red x's where the photos were. I'm sure some might be lost in the move but they should be few among the 70,000 plus images and attachments. This morning when I left for work we were still only at 71% of uploading the attachments which had run several times over the last few days. This has been a real waste of time when the WinSCP application crashes part way through.

Anyway most features should work as they have before. With the exception of emails to comcast and some others like godaddy rejecting forum notices already. Note they are the problem - not our server. They simply do not acknowledge the new server correctly. They have been contacted but they have ownership and make final decisions on their blacklists.
