So I went out with the pup today up the Teanaway doing a little a scouting for my buddies late cow hunt that starts next weekend, and brought the shotty along just in case, good thing because I came across this one and one other grouse that I missed a hurried shot on. The dog did a great job, ran right in on the bird, grabbed it, but than decided that the feathers weren't quite her taste and dropped it a few feet from me. She's had very little training so I was stoked to see her take it up so naturally. Hopefully its just a sign of things to come.

Sounds like a great first bird to me. Keep at it, and remember a dog can not get too much praise. Good picture.

great looking dog and fun times....don't let them slip by too quickly....It breaks my heart to see my 13 year old girl struggle to get up off of her bed each morning and walk around the house stiff and sore some days....but she and I have had some awsome adventures for a long, long time and I hope she has as good of memories of them as I do.  Hope you get to have as many wonderful years with your girl as I have.
