best time to go

Ive always heard the best time to go is around april. is that true cuz it seems like it would be better to START looking in mid march

I would go out now if the snow would melt here, most of the whities around here are bare.

Now for deer but around mid march to mid april for elk.......You can usually find a few deer while you are looking in april also. But if you just want nice fresh deer then now would be perfect.......
