i got a chance to shoot the gun the other weekend and wasn't super impressed.  i was shooting federal vital shok 55gr NBT.  i only shot 4 times though.  two shots about 1" apart and 8" high so i dropped it down to 1.5" high and took two shots that were just under 1.25" apart.  Maybe I need a heavier bullet? :dunno:  or just shoot it some more. :tung:  eventually i'll try some handloads, but i bought these factories to get the brass and to shoot any critters that happen to stumble into the property.
Im a lead farmer mutha....

I just use what the rifle is sighted in for. Which is a deer load, 100gr Hornaday interlock. I use IMR 4350 with it. Seems to turn coyotes inside out just fine!

How much 4350 do you use?  Thanks.

I will check when I get home. On shift now. I think it is 40.5gr IMR-4350, PLZ don't quote me on this. The older I get, the worse my memory gets! The load is not a max load, but it shoots well in both .243's we use. I have the load in my note book, and it's written on the box'es the shells are in. I will try to confirm saturday.

40.5gr IMR 4350 should put the 100gr interlock between 2800 and 2900 fps. It drops deer in their tracks as well as coyotes. PLZ do your own research before using any loads given on this site!

hornady makes some 58 grain bullet that will easily kill a coyote out to 350 yards.

Thanks C, I'll check it with my books.  I bought some 414 for this gun but have the 4350 that I use for my -06.
