I stumbled onto these today and thought I might get some of you elk nuts something to  over.  Idabooner and I had to wipe the glasses clean after this guy bugled in our face a couple times.  I needed about 10 more minutes of light to have real clear shots, so we are a bit blurry.  It didn't help I was shaking from excitement. I hope you enjoy!

I heard this fella and another big herd bull down the way talking to the above elk, so I couldn't resist checking them out.

You couldn't ask for a prettier backdrop.  And here was the big herd bull checking me out. Again, sorry for the blur.

Why are they still packing?  I thought most of the antlers had dropped by now.    Do elk drop later than deer or something.  Iknow a few people on here have been picking up elk sheds for a while now.

There is only a short window in the fall when the the most awesome tree in the world, the Aspen, turns those colors, that was a dead giveaway! Incredible photos thanks for the inspiration!
