Had a nice break from them for the last two years, but couldn't get into my favorite place due to snow.

Sneakyjake,

I don't no how high you hunt, but the snow line is about 3100 to 3500 rite in there in my area. Ya with this early snow melt and early spring they are going to be heavy.

11? I found 11 having a party on my neck at one time.  :bash: I think I picked about 80-100 by the end of my walk on Saturday. No joke. No inflation eather. It was at least 80. I peeled my shirt off twice during the day and cancelled the tick party.  :yike: :yike:

They are worse than i have ever seen.

Our base is around 2200 and the peak is 4000.  We have been locked out of my favorite area for the last two years like everyone else.  The birds get pretty wild in this weather. It is gonna be fun, better get my boots greased.

I arrowed a doe near Snoqualmie one time. I looked at her belly and thought - 'hmmm, I've never seen dark patches on the belly of a deer before'. Since she was only a yearling, I threw her on my shoulders.

I walked about 70 yards and realized the dark patches were hordes of tick mites. It looked like millions of them once I got out in the open away from the dark timber and had light enough to see.

I picked ticks off for the rest of the day. I burned her hide after skinning her.

At least it still isn't as bad as places like Oklahoma.

I always get 3 or more cans of tick spray and hit all the openings especially ... hats, facemasks, gloves, shirts, pants, boots, etc ... never had a problem since and don't ever want to ....

I used to hunt in  fleece camo bibbs and always seemed to pick up a bunch of them-when I quit wearing the fleece I did'nt have near the problem.  Also started wearing nice, snug gators and and spraying well-seemed to help a lot.  Personally I think there was something about the flecce that attracted them, but only a guess
