Im guilty too
« on: April 25, 2010, 06:41:32 AM »
All my life Ive cared about losing rights to hunt or carry arms..Dad was always reminding it was time to renew NRA cards,And so on..So I always stayed involved in the NRA,then went for ILA and supported all I could..Then I started slacking and letting others do all the work...Well Saturday was a good reminder of how hard certain individuals toil at keeping our rights to bear arms and repealing laws that other states and counties and so on have taken away..
There is more to it than bitching on a hunting forum...I will keep up on the NRA and will join SCI and made a promise to myself to assist in anyway to help those that work so hard..I will be there to show them they are appreciated,I'm sure it made those folks feel good to see the support Saturday...I want to see a crowd that shows support, more than the left wing freaks that want us to bow down to their agendas....Again I say thank you to them that push forth and fight the fight, and I'm sorry for not being as responsible as I should be..That's gonna end starting now with me!!!!!

Rasbo awesome, glad to see you are motivated, just remember not to get discouraged, do what you can but don't let it get to you when we lose more than we win (like in Nov 2008). The more who will continue the fight to keep what we have and try to make some gains here and there, the longer we will all have freedoms and the choice to hunt or not to hunt.

Rasbo, I hear ya! I am really trying to stay involved as much as I can. Trying to set a great example for my children too.

I hope the legacy I leave is that of one who fought to preserve rights that my children can pass onto their children.

I do what I can when and where I can.  Right now I am focused on work and school I am trying desperately to get my degree.  In my almost zero spare time I am helping a regular guy make a run for office...yeah I am almost a campaign manager for a grassroots push to get a regular conservative in office instead of a partyline player.  I got tired of just complaining years ago and started writing letters, sending emails, and even at one time making phone calls.  Most people think of me as the yar princess (whatever that means  ) but I have been playing in the political ring for a long long time now..... I am sorry I have missed the tea parties and events but as I said my work week is the weekend and has been for a while, with the hubby unemployed I cannot take time off I hope to eventually be more involved and we will see if this education is actually worth anything or not.

Do what you can where you can Rasbo most people never do any more than complain, I try to get people to simply even send an email to the reps at all levels when its something they feel strongly about.

I tell ya I was impressed with the progress that has been made..And by using the tactics that the left wingers use...Lawsuits, or threats of...Ice you are a great example for a parent,as many are on here, I love to read the threads on the family stuff..You know its gotta be hard for family guys and gals to get out,but the rallies that we can attend are rallies that children can go to.This year is crucial..we must get folks out to vote in high numbers..

I too am guilty of becoming more passive.  I am renewing my membership in several organizations, and will start being more proactive!

It is time gun owners, and hunters got more organized TOGETHER!  If one falls, the second will follow quickly!

Rasbo, sending you a pm.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.
