Skagit Arms in Burlington, WA just picked up 10 cases of this ammo in the #4 shot, 1-1/4, 3".  Selling for $19.99 per box.  They were running a special if you pick up a case $10.00 off per case.

is it worth it???

Probably worth it for those that always shoot behind the birds or those that consistently shoot past the 40 yard mark.

Hopefully it doesn't take me 10 cases for a season to shoot the birds I need.   :chuckle:  I will give it a try.  I know the hotter stuff start tearing up many of the semi-auto's.  If you start having jamming issues, think about the ammo being used.

I just bought a box today I will take them out on Saturday and see how they pattern.  I will see how they do against Black Cloud as well.  I will try them in 3 different guns I have and see which one they do the best in with which choke.  Should be a great day.

:chuckle: I know you hunt A LOT, but I don't think even you could go through 10 cases in a year. I think that would be a sure trip to shoulder surgery.

I've been good been doing lots of decoy painting, rigging and scouting.  I still have to put a blind on my new layout and also my old one when someone else goes with me they can use it.  I am setting up my layouts to hunt open water this year I am looking forward to it.

I found this site yesterday when I was do some searches on the Hypersonic shells.  After seeing all the same guys on here I joined up.  I was really glad that I seen your name as I haven't heard from you or seen you on the other site.  I will shoot you a pm perhaps we can go out this weekend throw some clays and pattern the Hypersonics.

I got the 3" 1 1/4 #4's.  Skagit Arms didn't have any of the 3-1/2's.  I will shoot these through my gold hunter and my old reliable 870.  I think I will like the recoil a lot better with the Gold but we will see.  I will post pics of the patterns from 40yds and also pics of my shoulder if any bruising.

Well if you're going to try something go big or go home.  I don't think they will be that bad in the Gold Hunter but the 870 on the other hand may have a wallop.

No it is not worth it.  I took my box out today with Snoco and did some patterning.  Let me first say dang it has some kick and is LOUD.  It don't pattern any better than the BC and is terrible on your shoulder and ears.  It sounded loud with the ear protection so we took our off to hear what it sounded like and it had a loud crack to it more like a high power rifle instead of a shotgun blast.  I shot about 5 at the pattern boards then shot about 5-7 more at clays to see how they did on passing shots.  It did put a hurtin' on the clays but I found I was shooting in front of the clay instead of on target or behind.  After shooting 10-12 rounds my shoulder is bruised from the extra recoil.  I can tell you I shoot plenty all year long when I go throw clays anywhere from 100-150 shells a day and never had my shoulder even a little sore.  So I don't think these are worth the extra recoil, sore shoulders, and the extra loud noise to hurt your ears.  I thought before I shot these that they would be my new round for the season now I am going to stay with Black Cloud.  I have 1/2 a box left I may take it out during season to see how it does against the birds and perhaps I will change my mind but I really can't see me shooting many of these during the day and feel good.
