First fawn of the year.
« on: May 29, 2010, 08:40:19 PM »
Sorry no pics.

Weathergirl came home from our farmers' market today and saw a little spotted fawn between our garage and shop.  First little one of the year.

I've seen a few does acting suspicious but have yet to spot one.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

They are so funny when they are fresh, all wobbly and sniffing everything...lol

Nothing in my area yet. I saw about ten does yesterday but no little ones.

Yeah.  We've been seeing lots of yearlings w/o their moms so I figured the does were starting to isolate themselves a bit.

I was in Montana 2 days ago and saw a bunch of elk.  I saw 2 little calves which looked very healthy.  They were cute little buggers.

We saw a nice buck last night, with a doe.  ???

In addition to 4 other deer, 2 of which were does, and the other two not known. But no new fawns.

I saw one Saturday on the eastside. It had to be less than two weeks old. My buddy jumped out of the truck for a pic and the momma just about trampled him as the fawn ran into the brush so we missed the shot :(

Last Thursday the wife had a fawn run right up to her in our front yard. The next day I watched a doe in the yard and then out came the fawn from under our Roddy plant. The front yard is completely fenced so we figure she had the fawn last Wednesday night right in the front yard. Cute little buggars.
