Problem with Labor birth pups
« on: May 31, 2010, 07:36:43 AM »
We expecting pups three days ago no luck then today is 66th day PG But supposed between 59 to 63 but today 66th geez, She acting normal... ate normal... going bathroom normal....  Anyone have this before ? Any reason why it take her soo long...  I got worried two days ago took her to Vet on 64th day and Dr said look great just give some time. If nothing probablly have to do C-Section tomorrow morning  :bash:

Wonder if anyone has problem like that.

Mulyhunter:
Relax and have a beer on this Memorial Day.
Labs have been having pups for a long time and it sounds like your doing everything right. If your vet isn't worried that's a great sign especially if it's a vet that you trust. I would be more worried is he had an extended hard labor but it sounds like everything is normal just a bit late. I'll bet by next week this time you'll be posting about being overrun with puppies.

Hang in there

Good Luck

Jeff

yep she should be fine, i have had pups on the 67 day kinda depends on the dog and litter size as well. one of the best things to do for a future note is take a rectal temp each night dogs are very consistant and when they drop 1 degree or more they are within 24 hrs of having the pups. another thing is "i have not seen the dog so i do not know" but false pregnancy's do happen and they look just like the real deal i have had 2 over the years. just something to keep in mind but if she has had a x ray or you can feel the pups then it is not one for sure. you should be just fine and good luck.

also i am allergic to hopps so no beer for me as well

Toward the end of our retreiver's term she would disappear when out for a pee.  We finally found where she was digging a den, under some lumber outside the daylight basement.  Have fun with the pups.
