I tried a tree stand for the first time last season and had a cow come in at 12 yards. Like Matt listed do your scouting and find a well used area and be patient and you can get them.

I will try a tree stand this year for elk...not sure if I will lilke it or not. I have a great spot...but lots of times, the elk get too close on the ground, before I get a chance to draw....so I think it will work out.

We'll see....might need to make some truckers lemonade up there though.... :chuckle:
