trail cam suggestion
«

I would like some feedback of what camera you have and how it performed. I had a gameview and it's junk. My budget is around 100. I like to use this for scouting and for now, trying to catch some dumb *ss who kept throwing eggs at my house/cars. Thanks.

I saw one at Cabela's that was just a little more than $100 that was infrared. I can't remember that brand. That might be an option especially one without a flash.

Thanks. I'll take a look.
I don't mind IR or flash. I think flash would be better. I just want that stupid person to know that he is being photographed so he can stop. This has been going on for some time, but I got egged for 2 consecutive nights lately.
I would like a fast trigger.

I got a moultrie 5.0 from santa claus.....just recently started using it and it works great. Good clear pics, easy to use, and very good battery life. I bought the upgraded memory card for $13 bucks at walmart. I left it for a 20 day soak and the battery life was still at 45% left! There around $100 bucks at cabela's. I am planning on getting another one! JMO!

Be careful of the ebay cams. There are some sellers on there selling used cams that don't function properly.

Ok, sounds like Wildview, Stealthcam i590, and Moultree 5.0. For those that owned these, are you experiencing trouble like some of the feedbacks on Cabelas' website? I just want one with less trouble and will last for couple years.

My kids bought me a Moultrie D-40 from and have had it go 3 or more months on a set of batteries and good pics. I have never had a problem with it. You can find them on sale as low as $70

I have a Moultrie D40 and a 5.0 both have good battery life and take pretty good pics. The only thing i don't like about them is the slow trigger speed. So either put something out to stop game or point the cam down a trail so the cam has time to wake up

sounds like that the battery life doesnt matter much to you and for a trail cam for under $100 thats what u will get. If you go with a flash expect a bear to get ahold of it at some point unless you are strictly using it to catch egg throwers.
