Just a quick response to my issue with Rainier. I did pick up my bow finally repaired. FWIW Mr. Lilley is well aware of this thread. I hope this invokes some changes for the better. My bow is fixed and fixed properly. Shoots great and still dead on at 60 yards.

Thanks

With today's economy customer service is KEY. Without it you wont make it very long. I am searching for a new bow. I might be searching the internet just for that reason and to save Money.

Rainier Archery is 1 of the top selling Mathews dealers in all of the United States. Currently top 5. With minimul employees Joe puts out as many bow's as Lancaster Archery that has 10x's the bow hunting population in their backyard. So you might want to give him a break when he get's a little backed up or doesn't exactly live up to your standard's. No shop is perfect. That is his personality, you may not like it but he doesn't mean any harm. That is just him. Unfortunately many of you don't live in this area so you can't see him often enough to find out how good of a guy he really is.  You can buy a bow and he will give you a break on everything down to the arrows not just the quiver and he throws in a paper tune for later at no cost.  :twocents:

Oh and btw...A guy brought his buddy in to price a Mathews like the one he just bought in Seattle and Joe sold the bow for the same price of course and was still $200 cheaper when all was said and done with better accessories and with a free paper tune for later on top of that. They were blown away. I was there.

Agree with most above post.

Dropped my bow off for warranty repair on a friday. Told it would be a few days to get parts from mathews. Called following friday, sorry parts didnt come in ups (mathews always 2 days warranty parts).
Called tues sorry no part but they were ordered and are stuck on ups truck. Called friday sorry mathews refused warranty. Called mathews, they track every thing. No claim was made and no parts were ever ordered. Picked up bow and got the cold shoulder. Called mathews again and parts were then shipped second day. Dropped bow of again, parts are in their hands and bow is not fixed. >:( >:( >:(

I had something similar happen to me. They didn't help me out with my warranty through bowtech. Then on top of it he wanted to charge me for something that should have been covered through warranty. I ended up dealing with Cory at XXX Archery. He bent over backwards to help me get the part I needed for my bow under warranty and mailed it to me and Larry at Wholesale's sports installed the part for free. Both these guys are top notch. Go see either one of these guys if you are in the market for a bow. I am not sure if Joe at Rainier even knows what customer service is.

Sounds to me like a couple of you guys had questionable warranty issues! Only reason Mathews, Hoyt and I believe bowtech would bach at warranty is in the case of a dry fire and normal wear items. If you don't think that after millions of bows that these manufactures or shop owners can't tell a bow was dry fired you're wrong.  :twocents:

My bow wasn't dry fired but Joe pretty much told the rep he thought it was, way to back your customer, not. The only thing questionable is Joe and his customer service. And yes I don't think Joe can tell if a bow is dry fired because he was obviously wrong in the case of my bow. Jbar do you work at Rainier ?

It doesnt matter if its questionable or not. The dealer does not make the decision as to wether it should be warranted by the manufacturer. I'm not going to continualy bash Mr. Lilley but I will clarify. When my bow was dropped off It was to late to call Mathews. He should have called Mathews come monday morning to get an RA. At that time IF Mathews would have denied the warranty I simple could have made a call to Mr. Olson. Mr. Olson was the Mathews rep that pre approved the repairs and suggested the bow go to the selling dealer. My parts would have been shipped second day and bow in hand by Fri. as planned.
Instead I was told parts were ordered and on a ups truck on two seperate occasions. How could this be if Mathews was never called? How could this be if the warranty was denied? According to Mathews my serial number was flagged and all warrany inquiries were to go straight to Mr. Olson.
I dont mind if a shop gets a bit busy and the call to Mathews was delayed by a day. To blow smoke for two weeks instead of picking up a phone is not right. Every call was made by me or my wife none by any shop employee.
Ive owned a business for more than 20 years and fully understand customer service and warranty. This is very simple common business knowlege. You play the middle man when it comes to warranty and it sucks but its part of being a dealer. Warranty should be top priority in any business besides being a consumer protection issue it builds repeat business. Mathews makes it clear that it is their number one priority and you can count on the fact that they earned my repeat business.
I would hope this is reminder or maybe a kick in the butt for Rainier to step up the customer service. I really would hate to see them fail, we need a good shop around here. I'm thankful I have my bow, its in the past and wil leave it at that.

Never heard of any issues with XXX Archery.

About the one time I stopped in at Raineer Archery, it was to look for potential bows since I had been out of it for so long. They didn't offer a whole lot of feedback about any of the bows, but were quick to set them up so I could test shoot them. Then had some kid working there try to pawn off his used bow, think it was a Prestige, rather than buying something behind the counter. After checking some out and shooting them I said thanks, still wanted to take a look at some others and wasn't there to buy something that day and actually had one person laugh to themselves at my comment. There something wrong with going out to a shop to see what is offered without buying that very day??? I won't go back.

You know, i have seen several threads over the last year or so about Rainier Archery and there way more unhappy customers then happy ones  :dunno:

I have not personally delt with them, but i know a few guys that have and are "ok" with them but thats it, they would not recomend them, but they would go back if they were getting a good deal.

 :twocents: on this thread.

Not implying you dry fired your bows just stating that most companies don't warranty a dryfire!
Hughj - I help out there once in awhile but am not employed by Joe!
I'm not familiar with either situation that I recall just comenting based on what I know!

Got my new bow from Rainer. Could not get it to group. Checked the sight and it had a stripped bolt in it. Very irritating to have spent the $$ and time to travel there plus waiting for it and  get a new piece of equipment that was in need of repair. I am most likely done with them. Not real happy about it. Trust no one I guess?????
