Elk Woods Memorial For my Pops!
« on: August 17, 2010, 04:15:17 PM »
Well,

My Dad passed away last October and this will be the firsts time in the ELK woods without him. I wanted to do something in the woods as remembrance. I designed this plaque that will be made out of brushed stainless steel and It will be bolted the large tree up on Dad's hill. If you see this plaque in the woods up above halfway Flat you will know that you are in a special spot hunted bye a special, Mentor, Father and Friend. P.S. The playboy bunny was a Tattoo he got in the military back in the 60's.

Just thought I would share.

Thanks Guys for all the kind words. It will mean alot seeing it up there every year. Cherish the time you have with your hunting partners and elders that have passed down this passion for hunting. Do not take it for granted.

Good luck this year.

A very awesome idea.  I also did something like this for my father.  He like yours was my mentor, partner, bestfriend and most of all loving dad.
May the mountain spirits protect the tribute from harm as your father watches over. :)

Your Pops helped to make the woods and hunting very special to several of us over the years.  It is going to be great to go back to that spot and spend some time remembering all of the good times.
We are all so thankful for all of the memories and all of the lessons learned.
It is a great memorial my friend and one your Dad is looking down and smiling about.
