My understanding, if a general season is open, they must use that weapon, ie. archery during archery, etc.  If no open general season then they can use any weapon.  At least thats the way I though it worked.

This is correct. Any weapon, any time between september 1st and december 31st in any gmu open to a general or special permit season. you must use the legal weapon during each respective season but may choose any when there is not season. I might have the actual letter still somewhere...

I would scratch off the Colockum. I am planning on killing the only big bull left up there on the opener! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
I know right where he is too.....maybe you miss and I get pulled next year :chuckle:

passed on a 350? wow, you gotta quite a set on ya i will say that. a true 350 bull is a lifetime trophy for 99.99% of the hunting population. i live close and spend a fair amount of time in the blues and have been lucky enough to see some real monsters. i promise if i had that tag and had a 350 walk within range of me i would put one in him and sort out the logistics later. once the general seasons open all bets are gonna be off on seeing a big boy again til next year  :twocents:

Huntin the mission (blewett pass) the 20-24

I don't think I'd be hunting the Mission unit with that tag. Besides, can't you hunt outside of the actual general and permit season dates? Why hunt just the 20th to the 24th? I'd be hunting a unit right now that isn't open for archery, with a rifle.

i am sorry my friend you are mistaken. the blues are overrun with people, wolves, grizzlies and saquatch for years now. in fact there are no elk in the blues. i can get Pathfinder101 to get his proof pics out again to remind you if need be. besides ellensburg has way nicer motels  :chuckle:

No wonder you never see any elk you hang out with Pathfinder101.  He's old, slow and never leaves the road.  That's why he hunts the Blues, there's lots of roads and the Blues are really flat.  Not very steep at all.    :chuckle:

I don't hunt E. WA but I've seen some huge bulls in the mountains to the south of Cle Elum.
