Best of luck there Saylean. From what little I know, bears can be very tenacious of life... Likely hauled himself deep into the thick stuff. We had to search for mine, and he only made it about 10' after getting shot. But it was 10' back under some thick brush, very difficult to spot until we were close to him.

Great video by the way. Hope you find your bear. Wonder if a tracking dog for the wounded bear would be legal? Doggone shame to lose the bear, but it happens sometimes.

Sounds like you smacked him hard for sure, but bears seem to be able to find a hole in the ground and dang near dissappear when they are wounded.  I'll bet he's pulled himself up under a blowdown or a rootwad or something and you'll dang near need to be touching him to find him.  Good luck Saylean.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Well guys and gals, all I can say is I have alot of respect for an animal who can take punishment like I dished out and still hide, or make it.

Lost the trail, searched for three days, missed the archery elk opener, but it was all worth it.

My apologies to the animal for not finding you. You deserve better and I only hope my actions and efforts proved worthy of your majesty.

My first bear tag is considered used up in my opinion.

Thanks to all who supported me and offered help. Wish I found him, but thats why it is hunting.
