Ringold gmu379 and Wahluke Gmu 278
« on: September 12, 2010, 10:21:10 AM »
Does anybody know anything about these GMUS? 379 and 278. I took my dog over there last week for a walk and thought it might have something? any thoughts or wisdom. I was thinking muzzleloading.

Tons of deer in 278, buck/doe ratio seemed poor. Only saw one buck in 8 days that I considered pulling the trigger on. Not a lot of deer in 379, gets a fair amount of pressure. Don't think it is as good today as it was a few years back before it all burned up.

I would agree with Couesbitten, when I've hunted for deer in 278, I saw a lot of does and only one spike. In 379, I've seen a few bucks, (jumped one big one that swam across the Columbia River), lots of does. My buddy took a big doe during the muzz. season a few years back. Seems like there are more deer in the early seasons as opposed to the late seasons. I also agree that the fires have had negative effect on the deer numbers in that unit.
