Little help please
« on: September 14, 2010, 11:06:08 AM »
Does anyone have experience with scope ring bases that have angle built in to them. My tikka right now is zeroed and I am up 4 rotations righ out of the gate. That only leaves me 3 rotations. That gets me out to 750 yards. If I could bring my back ring up with 10 degrees or so I would have more room to work before my scope tops out. I have no knowledge of how this works other than the little research I have done in the last few days. I will likely leave it for hunting season as I will not shoot anywhere near 750 yards at a deer. But I want to be able to shoot a 1000 at a range for fun.

Does anyone have experience with the built in angle in their base?
What do I order?Brand? Type? Angle? Right now I have Leupold 2 peice base and rings.

Thanks

Midway has this one for the Tikka. Do you think its fine or is there a better brand?

I have several Tikkas and don't use their rings anyway. I would buy medium height bases and rings then remount the scope. That will move your scope up and give you the turns back
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

Ok I already have another question. If I add 20 MOA in my base, will there be a noticeable difference in height or will I get use to it? Some guys on other forums have had to get raised cheek piece. I dont want to have to do that.

Tikka rings are crap.I have Leupold base and rings. Medium height for my 44 objective. Also just changing height wont help. You have to chang the angle from what I understand. Is that right?

Problem solved. 509er called me and told me he has seen me shoot. No need to worry about setting my gun of for anything past 400.  :chuckle: :chuckle:
