Tell him he can carry a dozen guns if he wants. There's no limit on how many guns you carry while hunting.

It would be ok to carry the 308, but illegal to use it on a bird. And yes some people do get "kicks" out of blowing up grouse.

It is perfectly legal to carry both rifles as long as you only use the .308 for bear and the .22 for the grouse......Of coarse it does require you to be in a non firearm restricted area.

It better be legal, I always carry a pistol and rifle and shotgun, yes all 3 when hunting bear/grouse.

What law says you can't shoot a grouse with a 308? I've killed plenty of grouse with my 270, and before that a 264 Win. Mag. I always shoot the head off.

Holy cow you people scare me, Do you not READ THE REGS? (not you doublej, your just asking a question), but atleast 2 people have responded with incorrect information.
Get your copy of the regs (you have one correct?)
Open it to page #72.
Now go to #11 (it's on the upper right).
And read it (you can read correct)
Now come back and tell us what it says regarding forest grouse..

There will be a pop quiz tommorrow...

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

OK, here it is. What exactly are we supposed to learn from it?

That's only legal during deer and elk modern firearm if you have a valid tag.

The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
