Another route for a shotgun, is to find a Thomson New Englander, and order a 12 ga. barrel for it. I bought a new TC 12 ga. barrel from the TC gun shop 3 years ago. Cost for the barrel was just over $200. It takes choke tubes and has performed well. You might possibly find a used CVA or other shotgun for a reasonable price.A muzzle loading shotgun is a lot of fun, the only way to go for turkey hunting.Congratulations on getting a buck with a real muzzle loader.

Might be a good use for it. I was actually thinking of getting rid of it.
