Had a great time talking to a few bulls, but couldn't get any in sight in the thick timber. Was much warmer and dryer than normal. A lot of streams and watering holes were dry. Seen robins, butterflys, and spring flowers above 10,000'. Did get to listen to a wolf howling from 9500' bivy camp, and seen a few wolf tracks

. Might have something to do with why the elk were so scattered

. Never seen more than 4 together at a time, one bunch we snuck within 30 yard above timberline @ 10,800'. Will be heading back next weekend, hope to find one at lower elevation if weather cooperates.
