JLOOMIS sorry I thought you said it was your first time, my mistake.  I have earned a couple trophies skeet shooting and could maybe teach you a few things if you are interested practicing on my private range.  I have a pretty good set up.   As far as dogs go I have a vizzla and a black lab.  They are an awesome team and like I said they work well with new guys.  but at the same time they are dogs and have their bad days just as we do

Weird I've been askin people about vizslas and how they are with waterfowl. Do you use your vizsla for waterfowl or just upland. And hell ya I'm down to shoot some skeets. Always down to bang some clay!!!!

Yea, many say vizslas are not the best for waterfowl but I have had some tremendous luck with my dog.  I firmly believe that its all on how you train the dog and I would say if you wanted, you could train a pitbull to hunt bird  .  But yea I have been hitting the clay pretty hard lately to get myself up to par for the opener.  I am thinking of doing some chelan for deer and also bringing the dogs to go pop off some bird while we are up there.  I know a few great spots.

Interesting to hear your experience P.  I have seen several great vizslas but they could never take the cold.  They had to keep moving as their coats just werent thick enough to endure getting wet and staying still.  Great temperment though.

Yea Chaos, I trained her with my lab since she was a pup and she just seemed to love the water.  Water meant she was going out with dad to kill birds but at the same time she loves getting back in the camper to the warm  heat after a long day in the water.

Do you put a  neoprene vest on  your dog?  What are your dogs names?  Post some pics if ya got any. Ps if your interested in any helmet cams my wife works for a company and she happens to rep the go pro type. I've heard good things about the cams.

One more thing.....I checked out that picture of your elk last year. Is that big headed white dude in the picture with you the albino wood tick?

Hey LOOMIS,

I havent loaded any pics of the dogs yet, sure we will get some good ones this year as my lab is ready to get back into action after the year off last year.  And yes that large white guy in the pic is albinowoodtic.  I dont know how but I stumbled upon him after getting my elk out there in some random tree stand overlooking pretty much nothing   he is an odd one thats for sure.  But nevertheless he was an awesome helper to haul that monster out.  I will pm you my info and we can chat over the phone and not tie up the thread
