Didn't see one coyote or prairie dog.

I shot 7 times. 2 one shot kills but I missed my buck twice and hit it twice. Got my first Muzzy kill though :IBCOOL:

Not sure how many times matt and chris shot. Matt didn't miss I know that.  :chuckle:

My plan was to get one with a muzzy, one with a .44, and one with a rifle. On the first day we spotted a group of lopes out in a small valley that we thought we could get to. MH and Chris grabbed the 30/30's with iron sites and I grabbed my muzzy. We put a good stalk on the lopes but they had moved so we didn't have a shot. All we could do is wait them out and hope that they moved behind a large rock outcrop. We sat and watched for 10 minutes or so and they actually did go behind the rock. Anyhow we all got intp a great position and waited. A big doe stepped into view first and I had her in my sites but she stopped directly behind a big rock out of site. Another smaller one walked by and joined her out of veiw. The all of the sudden we see one staring right at us. Any of you who have hunted these animals know what it's like to be pinned by an antelope. They lock on and just STARE!!!!  :bash: So I got her in my sites and got ready. Another little fawn walked right in front of her but kept going. I dropped the hammer and whacked her good. She trotted off about 20-30 yards and stood still then wavered and fell. I got up to her and of course the Gutpile luck holds true. She was a fawn. She was tiny! that little one that walked in front of her must have been about the size of a coyote. Anyways it was a hell of a fun stalk and it's my first muzzy kill so I'm pretty happy. Matt and Chris didn't get shots but we did get it on film.  :IBCOOL:

Here's the lil girl.

My first Doe kill was a small one also. On our first morning we saw a doe and 2 bucks hanging out together, so i decited to drop the doe (buck tag filled the night before). She was about teh size of that one. I thought it was pretty good untill Ribka droped a doe 15 minutes later and mine was a dwarf compaired to his.

We figured out, that the small doe's hang with the bucks and bigger does hang with other doe's and fawn's. Ater that, we just looked for the heards of all doe's, with maybe a buck or two before we even really looked at them.

We did a couple like that but tried to do a bit more stalking. This is my buck being carried out by Chris. I guess he thought the old man couldn't do it.  :chuckle:  Fine with me. I had a relaxing stroll back to the truck. We were probably 3/4 mile off the road on this one.
