if it is true that you have been hiking and camping around the area for 10 years or more than you should already know where some spots to go are. have you seen deer or elk on any of your trips? focus on those areas and explore a little more and more detailed.

Im sure ones he gets "out there" with all of the "general directions" he's requested hell soon be posting for directions out of wherever he's at, because he obviously hasn't spent much time in the field, or he blind as a bat and just can't see the animals and will be lost in no time and with his years of hunting experience we shold be houndin him for tips  :chuckle:

here I had such high hopes after reading so many other posts.  I know I'm new to the site but also new to hunting period and simply asked for a little info on what general direction to head in the wind river unit for deer and or elk.  Got one response... carson to the 90 road.   thanks  I guess I should stick between I -205 and pendleton too.  maybe I didn't find as good as a community and resource as I thought I did.   >:( :bash:

Actually, if you have spent time on the site you would have known better than expect a ton of help with little to no other posts. You would have known that it often takes time to get that one member who has the info you seek to finally see your miserable thread. Plus, if you had any clue, you would have realized how incredibly busy most of the modern rifle guys are right now so close to the opener.

Lastly, if you had been actually paying attention previsouly on the site, you would have noticed the value in it, the good people who make it happen, and you would have been more patient.  Instead, you come off as some whiny teenager who wants attention. Congratulations!

Edit: And no Ellensburg, the whiny teenager comment is not directed at you... :chuckle:

Your not a hunter your a hiker. If you were a hunter you would know better on what you just pulled. Sorry I missed your post because I spent the weekend looking at deer. This is the best forum I have ever seen. You should have done more reading and you would have known what to expect with the post you put up. These guys are a great group and love to help but they are not going to guide you. Good luck!  I wish you started out on a different foot because it's great to see people take up a new interest in hunting.

well dude, I do know a little about the wind river area butwill not tell you jack. what  could you have possibly expected to get from the great guys and gals here when you start off like that? be nice, add what can to the forum and you will get some in return, I know I have. it may take a year but with the right attitude you will be getting some very good info and maybe even some spots that are good to hunt. :twocents:

Just last month I said exactly where I killed this buck on here.  You just need to pay attention. :)  In fact I sent a fellow member to a spot where I saw a 30 incher THIS YEAR. He now knows within a 100 feet or so where that buck was.  I am looking forward to seeing his field photo with it.  When done, I think we'll go catch some fish.  He has a fly I want to try  That won't happen to everyone as I don't see that many. :)

Dam, I asked my girlfriend for the toilet paper.... Didn't expect her to wipe my bum as well.

How awsome would that be...  :chuckle:

That sure is a pretty brookie in that first picture, I love those fish !
I dont hunt the Wind River Unit, I just came back to the west-side after 20 years chasing Elk in the Manastash.
I also Archery Hunt (Traditional), won't go back to the "pumpkin patch" until drawn for multi, I enjoy it too much.
