Duck Opener!
« on: October 17, 2010, 01:22:54 PM »
Didn't think our "Blue-Bird" day would produce much. Pepper my 3yr lab thought a little differently. Somehow he got into the office at about 5am grabbed my shell vest (that we put together the night before) brought it into my bed room and dumped it on the floor.  :dunno: Not sure witch one of us jumped higher.  :chuckle: 15 minutes later after picking up the #4's, light #2's, and everything else i over prepared for i figured i didn't have much of a choice so out the door we went. We got down to our pond and we were completely fogged in! Every one of our shots were within 20 yds. Some were a little to close to shoot, think ill wear a helmut next time. We ended up with 3 mallards, a nice pair of woodies, and a green wing.  Hope every one had a great first day.

Question for everyone..
Does it seem like there is more birds early this year? (south west) Not sure if its the weather up north or what but its been at least 10 years since iv'e seen so many mallards and pintail this early.

You must have all the mallards down there. I didn't see a single one on Sunday. TONS of pinnies though....

They must have had a good hatch.  I shot a limit of greenheads on Sunday and saw plenty more.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

The snow geese have been here by the hundreds for about 10 days now....it started by the hundreds, now we are pushing a thousand or better.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.
