My 4x3 Muley on Opening Day
« on: October 20, 2010, 11:28:18 AM »
Was checking out some does that I had spotted through the sage brush but didn't see any bucks, I decided to go check the other side of the trail when I spotted the buck, he was around 150yrds out and moving through the brush, I lost him for awhile but I knew which way he went so I decided to go around him to see if I would spot him again, then another hunter pops out on the other side close where I had seen the buck go, we spotted each other and I thought he had spooked the buck so I kept going down the trail and he went the other way, after about 45 min., I returned to the field where I last saw the buck and I spotted some does in the distance so I made my way through the brush quietly to watch the does, I was getting warm and the sun was beating down on me so I decided to go behind a tree and get in the shade for awhile to cool off, I decided to scan the field with my binos and there he was!! 100yrds away and he was watching me all the way, he was between two big sage bushes and I had not seem him, he was hidding in there all the time, I saw that he was a keeper so I took the safety off and put the cross on his chest and Boom! down he went, bullet went through the chest and blew his shoulder, my buddies heard the shot and came down to helped me drag him out, Jerky is on its way. :)
Why stroke it when you can RAM it!
