Got a call yesterday morning froma buddy that once again scored a nice Blackie from Fort Lewis    :bash:

He did not say what area he was in.

The short story I got was.

His son was tired and wanted to nap, so he took off walking throgh the woods and seen this buck standing there. Shot three times and it disapeared. When he walked to teh area teh buck was standing, it was laying dead close by. I believe he got buck feaver, or maybe he is just a bad shot. We will only know if he joins up and posts up on here.

And by the way, he takes "BIG" bucks from Fort Lewis all the time. He and his son have made the record books with there bucks they have taken from there. His brother also has done very well  ;)


Its not that they know where to hunt, they just stumble across them  :bash: :bash: :bash:

ok this is Dale my deer came from area 10 saterday i shot it around 9.15 me and my boy hunted some of the areas that i no deer stay in with no luck  went to another spot my boy wanted to take anap so i went out making sweeps throuh the area.lots of sign.found 3 big piles of bear poop. worked my way to the bottom of a hill. seen a deer .seen that it had horns.its head was behind a tree ,aimed for the sweet spot.boom the deer still standing .it did not flench or move toshow a hit.so waht do you do.shot again. deerstanding like its not hit .it walk about 10 ft standing behind a ceder tree. so i shot again.deer walks off i didnt see it any more .i walk up to the last spot i seen the deer. it went about 10 ft dead .seen the i gards and rack .and sead holy .... my fist blacktail with both i gards .ive hunted the base for over 18 years .and have taken a deer every year. if i did not fill my tag on the east side
