planning on hunting around bald mtn, dont know if this is a good choice or not??

That'll be a tough one. Bald Mt is a war zone during the modern season. I've literally seen 20-25 trucks lined up on the side of the road with all of them hunting the Bald area.

The chances of success with a bow after the circus during rifle season is pretty slim IMO.

Thats if there are any elk left up there with all the snow that Chinook Pass is getting right now.

There are Elk that stay there most of the winter

There are the local elk in the area and the migratorial elk.  You will notice the cattle trails when the elk push threw

The cattle trails are there most of time.
They graise cattle up there in teh spring and all summer. I even see cattle in there durring early archery season in Sept  :bash:

Nothing like sitting an area and have a herd of cows come mosieing by  :bash:

Salt licks placed all over to keep the cattle close by

I see alot more sheep then cattle. Especially across the other side of the road

You will find more deer and elk in the Nile, but also a whole butt load of hunter. The biggest consetration oh hunters willl be in the Nile area. The Nile turns in to a small city durring late season  :bash:

Your best bet, is to find a unit that is open for deer but closed for elk. The consentration of hunters will be a lot lower and you chance of success will be higher.

I agree the lower portion of the nile is a city.  People camp down there with there Motor coaches and fifth wheels! There are animals there just depends on the pressure and weather
