from the hunting reg's page 70:

b. It is unlawful to have any electrical
equipment or electric device(s) attached to
the bow or arrow while hunting.

Thanks. I was too lazy to look it up.

I still can't figure out why it's there. Makes one wonder doesn't it? Wonder if he's gonna get a phone call?  :chuckle: OOPS!!!  :chuckle:

This is actually pretty funny.  :chuckle:

Washington state follows Pope & Young rules.  No electronics whatso ever.  Also radios are not allowed to help zero in on animals.

Here is what Pope and Young repilied to me regarding lighted nocks and any electrical equipment....

The rule regarding electronics (which was established back in the 1980s) includes the statement “no electronics attached to the bow or arrow.”  Therefore, any battery-operated device, such as lighted nocks, would violate that rule and, as such, an animal harvested with the use of such devices would not be eligible to be honored in the Records Program.

I got a nice 10 point tonight.

We're definitely gonna need a story to go with this one.

Some people on this site must be just plain miserable.  No it's not a flash light, and I don't own a sight light.

I got out of work at 4, got to my hunting spot at 4:20.  Put on my bibs and parka.  I changed the memory cards on the trail cameras, and climbed up in my stand.  I saw the doe first coming from the left, and this guy was following behind her about 25 feet.  His neck was all streached out and his nose was up in the air.  I shot him at 21 yards with a 100 grain thunderhead broadhead.  he didn't react like he was shot.  He jumped up a bit, then walked underneath my tree stand.  He stood there a bit, then walked behind my tree laid down and died.  I din't time it, but I think it took him about 3 minutes to die.  He lifted his head when I walked up to him, then put it back down.  I got the truck, and came back he had expired.  I gutted him then took him to the processor.  They informed me that he had to be skinned, so I went back home and skinned him, then dropped him back off.

I typed this all out last night but this site kept dumping me out because I tried to use the original size picture.  I figured out that I had to resize the picture, Duh.

To everyone who offer me congratulations, I wish to express my thanks.  To the haters and skeptics, I will pray for you also.  I really don't feel like posting on here any more.  Good luck to you all.

Sincerely,
Dennis J. Ortenburg

Love the buck, but the pickup in the background ruins the photo.  It should be a white Ford (mine) :P

Not grilling you but you do have 2 items that seem illegal, a flashlight and a lighted sight.  If thats not what they are please explain.  Also there are no areas open yesterday for hunting bucks with a bow.  Do you have a rifle tag?  It is a nice buck and if you took it 100% legal then congratulations if not.......

You can use a bow in rifle season if you want.  I believe they still have to follow the hunter orange rules of rifle season though.

dont let em get ya down, jealousy can be a pain in the ass. thats a great buck, no two ways around it congrats to you.

question for the question askers, what if it is a flashlight and he banded there because it was easy  :dunno: maybe it wasnt there while he was hunting? some folks are awful quick to jump to concussions around here and it does get old.

Hunting with a bow in rifle season is legal and smart, the deer are rutting then.
